Run the 2026 London Marathon for King George & Queen's Hospitals Charity

A charity ballot place is one of a limited number of entries offered by our charity for the TCS London Marathon. You apply to run on our behalf and commit to fundraising in return for guaranteed entry.

The registration fee is £200.00 and is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. We charge this fee because our charity pays for these places, which are significantly more expensive than general ballot entries. These places are incredibly valuable to us, and if someone withdraws at the last minute, it can result in a loss for the charity. While the £200.00 fee doesn’t cover the full cost of a place, it does help cover some of the expense.

We ask all our charity place fundraisers to raise a minimum of £2,500.00 (excluding Gift Aid). The £2,500 can include your £200.00 registration fee. 

Unfortunately, if you're unable to meet the minimum fundraising target of £2,500, you won’t be able to take part. Please ensure you’re confident in reaching this goal before registering. 

We kindly ask that you take the minimum sponsorship seriously, but if you're feeling unsure about reaching your target, don’t worry - we’re here to support you every step of the way! From fundraising ideas to encouragement, we’ll help keep you on track.

Yes – all TCS London Marathon participants must be 18 or older on race day. You'll be asked to confirm your age when you register for the event.

Simply complete our online application form. We’ll collect your details and ask you a few questions about why you’d like to run and how you plan to fundraise.

Congratulations on securing a general ballot place! Please accept it and let us know, so we can offer your charity Gold Bond place to another supporter. You’ll still receive full support from us and be a of TeamKG&Q.

All our runners receive:

• A branded running top and t-shirt
• A dedicated contact for fundraising support
• A digital fundraising pack
• Encouragement and updates in the run-up to the big day
• Fundraising certificate
• Information from through our charity runners blog and connections with TeamKG&Q
• Invitation to meet our Fundraising Charity Team

We’ll review applications and be in touch on or before Monday 11th August to confirm if you’ve been awarded a place.

The London Marathon is 26.2 miles

Yes! If you’re successful in the public ballot, we would love you to still run for King George and Queen’s Hospitals Charity. You’ll receive the same support as our charity place runners - but you’ll set your own fundraising target and will not need to pay a registration fee.

Not at all. We welcome runners of all experience levels. If you're determined, ready to train and fundraise, we’d love to have you on the team and raise funds for us as your chosen charity.

We understand that things happen. If you’re unable to run, let us know as early as possible. We'll guide you through your options, including deferral or fundraising alternatives.
